Public Participation in Reducing Arguments and Opposition to the Enforcement of Legal Measures in Thailand

Abstract

A study of public participation in reducing arguments and opposition to the enforcement of legal measures in Thailand. The objective is to study public participation and methods for solving public problems in reducing arguments and opposition to the enforcement of legal measures in Thailand. There were 8 key informants in the focus group who lived in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Municipality. The results of the study found that 1) Providing information to the public Some citizens are still not aware of the measures to disseminate legal information, causing the public to not participate much. Therefore, the government sector should publicize legal measures through a variety of channels. 2) Allowing the public to play a role. People are still not involved in finding solutions to the problems of enforcing legal measures. The government sector should and should meet with community leaders to survey people affected by the law to solve individual problems. 3) Consultation. The government sector has not yet organized a community forum for citizens to participate in order to obtain advice. The government sector should prepare a survey questionnaire to amend or improve the law. 3) Giving power to the people. Most people do not know how to participate in filing complaints. Therefore, the government sector should establish mediation centers in government agencies in each area for citizens to participate in filing complaints in order to uphold justice. 4) Creating cooperation. Some groups of people do not have the knowledge to provide legal information. Therefore, the government should recruit people with legal expertise to provide knowledge to public representatives.
