An Application of Bojjhanga Principle in Decision Making of Election to Local Leaders of People in Tambol Banperng Administrative Organization Pakpanang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

Abstract

The objectives of this thesis were: 1) to study an application of the Bojjhanga principle in make a choice of election to local leaders of people in Tambol Banperng Administrative Organization, Pakpanang district, Nakhon Si Thammarat. The research sample consisted of people in Tambol Banperng Administrative Organization, Pakpanang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat. Key informants include: Deputy President of subdistrict Administrative Organization Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Subdistrict Administrative Organization Public Health Specialist, village headman and chairman of village health volunteers, a total of 5 people The employed research instrument were closed-ended and open-ended questionnaire and the interview form. The statistics employed for the data analysis were frequency, percentage, standard deviation, and content analysis. The findings were as follows; 1) the overall and each aspect of an application of the Bojjhanga principle in decision making of election to local leaders of people in Tambol Banperng Administrative Organization, Pakpanang district, Nakhon Si Thammarat was at the high level, which specific aspects could be ranked from top to bottom based on their rating means as follows: the piti, the viriya, the concentration, the mindfulness, the upekkha, the passivism, and the dhammavidya. 2) guidelines for applying the bojjhanga principle in make a choice of election to local leaders of people in Tambol Banperng Administrative Organization, Pakpanang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat consist of (1) there should be consciousness in making election decisions with sufficient information (2) there should be knowledge and information about applicants before making a choice (3) should have firmness in making decisions and act with ideology (4) Seriously and sincerely encourage, support, accept and praise the selected representative 5) there should be calm and minimize conflict when unpleasant events occur (6) there should be firmness and determination in making choices free from any agitation or incitement or benefit and (7) should be impartial, unbiased, and accept their own decisions for the benefit of the whole.
