The Implementation of the Creation of Community Life Policy Based on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, in the Context of Lao Khwan District, Kanchanaburi Province

Abstract

This study aimed to (1) describe the current situation of the implementation of the creation of community life policy according to the sufficiency economy philosophy, and (2) propose a proper model for implementing the creation of community life policy based on sufficiency economy philosophy, in the context of Lao Khwan District, Kanchanaburi Province. Employing qualitative methodology, researcher assessed a case study by the inductive analysis from the documents, in-depth interviews, and focus group. The key informants consisted of 32 people, namely, government officials, and people who were the stakeholders.


Findings revealed that (1) the current situation of the policy implementation included (a) the relevant departments assigned a number of additional urgent missions, causing an obstacle to policy implementation, and (b) the leader communicated for policy implementation by abstraction, leading to difficulty to understand etc. (2) A proper model for policy implementation consisted of (a) flexible activities and operation timing that can change by the area context, (b) an easy-to-understand information by government officials,   (c) law amendments and regulations, and (d) increasing diversity of household careers.
