PROBLEM IN ACADEMIC REPORT WRITING: A CASE STUDY OF THAI MAJOR STUDENTS AT FACULTY OF EDUCATION, RAMKHAMHEANG UNIVERSITY

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the problem in academic report writing of Thai major students at Faculty of Education, Ramkhamheang University. The samples was carried out with 64 undergraduate Thai major students who enrolled in CTH 3108 wisdom in language and teaching course at Ramkhamheang University in the second semester of academic year 2020. The data were collected from academic report writing all 64 issue. The research instruments employed in the study were rubric for assessing academic report writing ability. Data were analyzed through the use of frequency, percentage and content analysis.


The result of this study were problem in academic report writing four categories. The most common problems in each of the following use of resource material, connect reference, resource reference, reference form followed by use of language, words usage, sentence use, level of language and mechanism followed by content, select topic and sub topic, content presentation, form and component of report followed by organization most to least, sequencing, connection of ideas and explanation.
