Abstract

This study aims to examine the causal relationship. The purpose this research were to study the factors effect on critical social media using of lower secondary students and to construct predictive equation on critical social media using of lower secondary students. The samples were 396 mathayomsuksa one, two and three students in Pathumtani province which were selected by stratified random sampling. The research instruments were rating scales consisted of attitude toward critical social media using questionnaire, self-regulation questionnaire, peer influence questionnaire, parent modelling questionnaire, teacher’s social support questionnaire with reliability at 0.91, 0.84, 0.70, 0.84, 0.84, 0.74, respectively and also had a discriminant index at 0.31-0.72, 0.37-0.62, 0.31-0.67, 0.41-0.69, 0.28-0.69, 0.37-0.63, respectively. The collected data were analyzed by using mean score, standard deviation, correlation and multiple regression.

The second predictor was attitude toward critical social media using with β at 0.260. The third predictor was self-regulation with β at 0.210. The Last predictor was parent modelling with β at 0.188. The Four predictors were able to predict on critical social media using at .05 level of significance with 37.6 percentage. The predictive equation on critical social media using were Y = 1.421 + 0.126X1 + 0.249X2 + 0.160X3 + 0.137X4 which was in term of raw scores and Z = 0.188ZX1 + 0.307ZX2 + 0.260ZX3 + 0.210ZX4 which was in term of standard score.
