FACTORS ASSCOCIATED TO HEALTH PROMOTING BEHAVIORS BY 3E 2S PRINCIPLE AMONG STAFFS OF NAKHON RATCHASIMA PROVINCIAL ADMINISTRATION ORGANIZATION

Abstract

This cross-sectional survey study aimed to 1) study of health promoting behaviors by 3E 2S principle among staffs of Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Administration Organization, 2) study the factors of individual characteristics and experiences, emotional and thought factors among staffs of Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Administration Organization 3) study the factors associated to health promoting behaviors among staffs of Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Administration Organization. The total sample size of the study was consisted of 293 staffs of Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Administration Organization by Multi-stage Sampling from 10 sectors. The data were collected through questionnaire. Descriptive statistics used for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, maximum and minimum value as well as Chi-Square test, Fisher’s exact test, Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Regression Analysis with Stepwise.


The results showed that: 1) overall health promoting behaviors by 3E 2S principle were in the moderate level (mean = 45.10, SD = 6.19), 2) most samples were female (59.0 percent) age 30-39 years (31.7 percent, min = 20, max = 59, mean = 37.98, S.D. = 9.34). Most of the body mass index of 18.50-22.90 kg2/m2 (36.9 percent, min = 16.40, max = 43.86, mean = 24.76, S.D. = 5.03), no underlying disease (81.2 percent). Most samples were single (50.5 percent) earned a bachelor’s degree (55.3 percent) period of operation 1-10 years (75.1 percent, min = 1, max = 36 mean = 7.18, S.D. = 7.19). The samples perceived benefits of action (mean = 53.19, S.D. = 6.77) and social support (mean = 31.02, S.D. = 5.12) in high score were at the moderate level. And
3) the factors associated with health promoting behaviors of the sample consisted of; Gender, Age, Perceived benefits of action, Perceived barriers of action and Perceive self-efficacy by being a positive relationship to the health promoting behaviors. This could describe the relationship for 23.5 percent to health promoting behaviors by 3E 2S principle among staffs of Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Administration Organization by statistically significant at 0.05 level. The results of this study can be useful for planning and setting up a health promoting program for staffs of Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Administration Organization. Taking into account activities suitable for each age and gender to match the interests and competencies of these groups. In particular, female staffs should be encouraged continuously and appropriated to their health promoting behaviors.
