USAGE BEHAVIOR OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY FOR TEACHING EFFICIENCY OF THE TEACHERS IN SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 5: DEFINITION AND CONDITIONAL FACTORS

Abstract

The purposes of this research study were to study meaning and condition factors of usage behavior of information and communication technology for teaching efficiency of the teachers. A qualitative methodology was employed in the current study. The key informants were 12 teachers who have been in the service of the Office of Educational Service Area 5. All the informants were interviewed using in-depth interview and content analysis.


The results showed that the usage behavior of information and communication technology for teaching efficiency of the teachers is defined that the teachers used the information technology and communication for searching for information in order to produce instructional materials, changing learning environment as well as the students’ attitude to encourage the them to learn happily so that student achievement increased. Conditioned factors that affect the usage behavior of information and communication technology for teaching efficiency of the teachers comprise of 1) attitude towards the use of information and communication technology in teaching 2) self-efficacy of using information and communication technology in teaching 3) information and communication technology literacy and 4) motivation of using information and communication technology in teaching.
