A STUDY OF GOOD PRACTICS IN QUALITY ASSURANCE RESPONDING TO VOCATIONAL EDUCATION STANDARD B.E. 2561 (2018) BY PRIVATE VOCATIONAL EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS: AN APPLICATION OF MULTIPLE APPROACHES

Abstract

        The purpose of this study was to examine the good practices of internal quality assurance of accredited vocational institutions in the second and third assessments by the Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA). The participants were selected by purposive sampling of which 5 private vocational education institutions that have been accredited. The research instrument was the 83-item-question interview form about multiple approaches of educational quality assurance in the aspects of desirable vocational education graduates. It was validated the consistency index with IOC values between 0.80-1.00.


        The findings presented that the implementation of quality assurance of the vocational education standards 2018 regarding the characteristics of desirable vocational graduates which of 9 items and 14 guidelines consists of 1) supervising and guiding the students: 3 ways, 2) students have desirable characteristics: 3 ways, 3) students have the ability to be entrepreneurs or self-employed: 2 ways, 4) learner's innovative research, inventions or creations: 1 way, 5) professional skills competition results: 1 way, results of 6) assessment of professional standards and 7) Vocational National Educational Test  (V-NET): 2 ways, 8) employment and further education of graduates: 1 way), and  9) community service and volunteer spirit: 1 way. The findings were to be used as good practices in the planning and operation of educational quality assurance regarding the standards for desirable characteristics of vocational graduates which aiming at providing quality education that is in line with the expected competency of the establishment.
