THE DEVELOPMENT OF BLENDED LEARNING MODEL LESSONS BASED ON CONSTRUCTIVIST APPROACH USING PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to develop the lessons created by blended learning model based on the constructivist approach for problem-based learning, 2) to evaluate the quality of the developed learning model, 3) to compare the academic achievement of the students before and after learning by using the developed learning model, and 4) to find the satisfaction of students who studied the developed lessons based on the developed learning model. The samples consisted of two groups: 5 experts, and 36 students in their first year of bachelor's degree program in Digital Technology for Education, Faculty of Education, Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University. The research instrument comprised of lesson plans, questionnaires, tests, and the developed lessons. The statistics used in the research were Mean, standard deviation, and t-test dependent.


The research results were as follows: 1) the developed learning model lessons have been carried out and consisted of 6 modules including (1) instructor module, (2) learner module, (3) content module, (4) assessment module, (5) communication module, and 6) problem-based learning module; 2) the developed lessons unveiled the highest level of holistic appropriateness (mean=4.66 and the standard deviation=0.09);  3) the learning achievement of students after studying the developed lessons was significantly higher than before at 0.05 level; and 4) the students' satisfaction on the developed lessons exhibited the highest level of holistic appropriateness (mean=4.52 and the standard deviation=0.60).
