LOCAL WISDOM OF HERBAL MEDICINES UTILIZATION IN BONGOEN SUB-DISTRICT COMMUNITY, LAT LUM KAEW DISTRICT, PATHUMTHANI PROVINCE

Abstract
The objectives of this research are to study the wisdom in utilizing the herbs in community Bongoen sub-district, Lat Lum kaew district, Pathumthani province. The research design using by qualitative and supplemented with quantitative data. The research methodology by surveyed herbal medicines and interviews of Local Wisdom Elite, wisdom utilizing on medicine and pharmaceutical properties of herbal plants in Bongoen sub-district, Lat Lum kaew district, Pathumthani province. The results found that there were 145 species of herbs found in Bongoen sub-district. the parts of plants used as medicine were leafs/young leaf of 98 species, roots/tubers/rhizomes of 94 species, stems/stem barks of 70 species, fruits/seeds of 54 species, flowers of 47 species and all parts of 33 species, respectively. The using methods of herbal medicines as medicine could be classified as boiling for 102 species, other methods (for example extraction, parching, drying and grinding) for 74 species, pounding for 50 species and squeezing for 40 species, respectively. As for the herbal pharmaceutical properties found that 145 species have different herbal pharmaceutical properties such as ylang – ylang for blood nourishing and diuresis, rose – colored leadwort for fire element nourishing and blood nourishing, aloe vera for remedy of burns, blue trumphet vine for fever and insecticide treatment, sacred lotus for pregnant nourishing, cardio-tonic and stanching.
