THE POLITICAL IDEOLOGY: THAI POLITICAL IDEOLOGY

Abstract

The objectives of this article were to study; 1) the development of ideology and political ideology 2) the important categories of political ideology, and 3) the political ideology in Thai society.  From the study, it was found that the Ideology  was created  by Antoine Louis Claude Destutt, Comte  de Tracy  in  the late of  18th century with four meaning ; firstly, to designate a new  empirical science of ideas, secondly, to  denote an affiliation  to a form of secular liberal republicanism,  thirdly, a pejorative connotation  implying  intellectual, and lastly, a limited sphere to denote political doctrine in general. It was also found that there  were  2 important political ideologies; the far-left politics comprised of liberal and radical, and  the far-right or the Fascism ideologies which were  more conservative and reactive. The study also revealed that Thai politics was more conservative than liberal and sometimes it tend to be more conservative or reactive as Fascism.
