Guidelines for Promoting Community Participation in Education Management in Educational Institutions under the Jurisdiction of Phetchaburi Municipality, Phetchaburi Province

Abstract
This mixed-method research aimed to study: 1. the level of community participation in educational management of educational institutions under the jurisdiction of Phetchaburi Municipality, 2. the correlation between personal factors and community participation in educational management, 3. the relationship between participation factors and community participation in educational management, and 4. guidelines for promoting community participation in educational management. Samples of the quantitative research comprised 391 people selected by probability random sampling. Data was collected through questionnaires and analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi-square, and multiple regression. Samples of the qualitative research comprised 30 key informants. Data was analyzed by using the thematic approach.
Research results: 1. community participation in educational management was at a high level, 2. personal factors in terms of age, education, occupation, income, and length of residence were correlated to community participation at the statistically significant level of 0.05, 3. community participation factors were related to community participation at the statistically significant level of 0.05, and 4. guidelines for promoting community participation in educational management were revealed that: a) local learning resources should be established, b) collaborative network to work on the school plan should be built, c) communication should cover for all groups, d) community participation should be motivated, and e) community participation in teaching and learning and evaluating project or activities should be increased.
