Abstract

Urban development and renewal are crucial for enhancing the quality of life and creating sustainable cities. This study employed qualitative interviews with experts and professionals in urban development in Thailand to analyze and understand the key factors and impacts of participatory urban development and renewal. The research findings indicate that selecting areas with potential and having clear goals and objectives are essential. This involves collaboration between the public and private sectors, maintaining transparency, and regular environmental impact assessments. Additionally, recommendations were made to develop human resources, utilize innovations, and establish participatory mechanisms that accommodate all stakeholders. These insights are vital for developing policies and plans that are effective and sustainable in urban development and renewal.
