A Study of the Music in the Royal Barge Procession

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to study the music in the royal barge procession. The target research group were 5 academics. The research instrument was interview form with the index of congruence (IOC) = .08. The research used content analysis and presented in a descriptive form. The research found that the music used in the royal barge procession were divided into two types : 1) Music used as a signal in the royal barge procession, were krapphuang, sao, and western trumpet 2) Royal ceremonial music in the royal barge procession, were the maharotheuk conch horn fanfare band and a javanese drum circle.
