Guidelines on the Quality of The Process of Academic Jourmals for Publish of Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi

Abstract

          The study aimed 1) to study the general condition of the academic journal preparation to publish the research works of Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi, 2) to synthesize the guidelines for the development of academic journal preparation to publish the research works of Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi. The sample used in the research was academic and support personnel of Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi employing the Taro Yamane sample program with a discrepancy of 0.05, obtaining the size of a sample of 296 people and a group of informants including 10 executives and representatives from the editorial boards of academic journals and journal humanities with purposive selection. Research instruments include questionnaires and in-depth interviews with an IOC value of 0.60 - 1.00 and a reliability value 0.95. Standard deviation and content analysis were statistics used for analysis.
          Findings were as follows: 1) the general condition of the of academic journal preparation to publish the research works Rajamangala University of Technology Suwannaphum was at a very high level, 2) for guidelines for the development of academic journals to publish the research works of Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi classified according to each aspect, it was found with the followings: in terms of services, journals should have an online system to submit articles for publication with author manual to follow e.g. journal page, steps, as signing up for a membership, the status of the article, including a support staff in case of additional explanation along with a guideline to submit journals via the on-line system as a practical guide ; in terms of manuscript preparation, there should be inspection with a system to assess the quality of the manuscript article in details together with references according to the Thai Journal (TCI) including quantitative and qualitative quality assessment criteria for strictly assessing the quality of academic journals in the database ; in the journal publication, the publication of articles should be punctual and journal preparation requires an online journal management system that can be traced back quickly and easily, and the website should always be kept up to date to check the status of the article and keep it up to date.
