Participation of Pha Man National Park in Khon Kaen Province with Partner Agencies in Community Economic Development

Abstract

          This article aims to study the operational guidelines of Phu Pha Man National Park, Khon Kaen Province together with the partner agencies which affects the success in stimulating economic activities of Phu Pha Man area, Data were collected from interviews with those involved in the operation of Phu Pha Man National Park, surrounding communities and local government organizations. This research classifies data collection into cooperation and factors affecting success in developing community economic activities and use the information obtained from the interview to analyze together with document data and field trips to study the environment and phenomena occurring in the area.
          The results showed that operating guidelines of Phu Pha Man National Park Khon Kaen together with partner agencies which affects the success in stimulating economic activities of Phu Pha Man area by the partner agencies, which are involved in tourism management operations of Phu Pha Man National Park include the government, the private sector and the people's sector. These agencies are coordinated, with Phu Pha Man National Park being a government agency with important missions to conserve natural resources, promote tourism. In this regard, Phu Pha Man National Park is working to build communities and people in the area to have awareness and understanding about ecotourism and to be aware of the compensation sharing system to the surrounding Local government organization, when the park has income from incoming tourism.  In addition, Phu Pha Man National Park is also working towards local benefits, through public relations for accommodation, shops and local services. It recommends temporary sojourn options available at both the park and community establishments. These prompted local government organizations and communities to participate in the conservation and restoration of tourism resources of Phu Pha Man National Park, being a good host in welcoming tourists. In addition, communication, tourism public relations assistance, joining the advisory committee of the park and the private sector has publicized the attractions of Phu Pha Man and participated in meetings to acknowledge information and problems with the tourism of Phu Pha Man, on a regular basis continuously. Cooperation between various partner agencies in the area is of great importance in the development of tourist attractions of Phu Pha Man National Park. These things take time to come to fruition, while the development of tourism infrastructure and facilities, for tourism, tourists and social media are the driving force for continuous tourism.
