Knowledge and Understanding of Information Technology in the Investigation of the Police Investigation, the Metropolitan Police Division 2

Abstract

           This research aimed to study the level of Knowledge and Understanding of Information Technology in The Investigation of The Police Investigation, The Metropolitan Police Division 2 and study the factors affecting the Knowledge and Understanding of Information Technology in The Investigation of The Police Investigation, The Metropolitan Police Division 2. Using a quantitative method, data was collected by the questionnaires, study of the entire population was 311 people. Statistics for analyzing data were percentage, mean, standard deviation, F - test and LSD. and pearson correlation coefficient. The results showed that the level of Knowledge and Understanding of Information Technology in The Investigation of The Police Investigation, The Metropolitan Police Division 2, overall was at a moderate level ( = 3.36, S.D. = .574). Considering each aspect, it was found that the first place was internet access, followed by Come is the material and equipment, software and system usage respectively. The personal factors of the police officers in the investigation department Metropolitan Police Division 2 differs in the knowledge and understanding of the use of information technology in investigative work. There were only 2 different factors, namely education level and rank level, with statistical significance at .05. Recommendations : It was found that budgets for materials and equipment necessary for the use of information systems should be considered for police officers in the investigation department to use in their work.
