Attitudes of Citizen in Samphanthawong District to Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin Bophit Phimuk Chakkrawat

Abstract

          The purpose of this research was to study the level of attitudes of the citizens in Samphanthawong District towards Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin Bophit Phimuk Chakkrawat. The sample population consisted of a randomly selected 425 respondents from Samphanthawong District. The research instrument was questionnaire for instrument quality checking. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.97. The data were analyzed by SPSS and used the frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Analysis of Variance (One-Way ANOVA) was used for comparing and testing the hypothesis. The results of this study found that the majority of respondents were female, ages between 15-25 years old. Most of them were Buddhists and self-employed, and had finished under bachelor's degree. Their average incomes ranged from 10,001 – 20,000 baht per month. Their descendants were neither studying nor finished from university. Most of them had never participated in any activities, nor followed on any information, or knew anything about the university. However, they need the university to set up community tourism activities. The study found that average attitudes of the citizens in Samphanthawong District towards university were respectively at a high level in all aspects, from high to low as follows: Organization, Learning and Teaching Management, Management Administration, and Academic Service Activities or Participating with Communities (mean = 4.00, 3.94, 3.93 and 3.85 respectively). The results of hypothetical analyses revealed that the differences in gender and level of educational attainment affected citizens to behave differently. Further, for different ages and average monthly income, those people did not have different attitudes.
