Needs for Academic Development of Educational Opportunity Expansion Schools under Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area Office 5

Abstract
The purposes of this research were 1) to study the level of the current situation and the desirable conditions in academic development of educational opportunity expansion schools under Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area Office 5 2) to study the needs for academic development of educational opportunity expansion schools under Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area Office 5 and 3) to study recommendations for academic development of educational opportunity expansion schools under Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area Office 5. The sample group consisted of 17 school administrators and 284 teachers. The tools used for data collection included a 5-level rating scale questionnaire and an open-ended question with recommendations on academic development in 6 aspects. The statistics used for data analysis comprised frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation PNI modified index.
The research results were found that:
1. The current situation in academic development of educational opportunity expansion schools under Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area Office 5, in overall, was at a high level, when considering each aspect, it was found that the aspect with the highest average was curriculum development in school, followed by measurement and evaluation and credit transfer, the aspect with the lowest average was research for educational quality development in school. The desirable conditions for academic development of educational opportunity expansion schools under Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area Office 5, in overall, was at the highest level, when considering each aspect, it was found that the aspect with the highest average was curriculum development in school, followed by instructional management in school, the aspect with the lowest average was research for educational quality development in school.
2. Needs for academic development of educational opportunity expansion schools under Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area Office 5, ranked according to importance were as follows: 1) Research for educational quality development in school. 2) Instructional management in school. 3) Educational supervision. 4 ) Curriculum development in school. 5) Development of educational technology and media application. 6) Measurement and evaluation and credit transfer.
3. Recommendations for academic development of educational opportunity expansion schools under Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area Office 5 were as follows: The school board, communities and parents should have more participation in curriculum development, teachers should develop themselves to be up to date in the technology age to be used in instructional management and receive budget support for the purchase of instructional materials, teachers should conduct classroom action research and use the findings to improve instructional problems, school should provide internal supervision continuously, measurement and evaluation should be managed in a variety of formats and based on individual differences and provide modern and complete educational technology materials such as computer-assisted instruction and the internet system, etc.
