Lifestyle and Belife of Local Woven Fabric Thai-Phuan Ethnicty, Lopburi Province

Abstract
This article aimed to study (1) lifestyles and beliefs of traditional weaving patterns of Thai Phuan ethnicity, Lopburi Province and (2) unique patterns and meanings in each traditional fabric. Samples were informants of Thai Puan weaver ethnicity selected specifically. There were 2 types of research tools used: 1) analyzing table for local weaving characteristics and 2) interview form, and data were written in a descriptive narrative. The results showed that 1. lifestyles and beliefs of weaving Mudmee originated from village named “Ban Mi". Men often used white cloth to girdle around their waists in a pattern called "Sai Pla Lai" and mudmee pattern is a checkered square. For women, they wear a pleated basket-collared shirt called "Maka-Leng". If a married woman will wear a "Kho Kra Chao" shirt. 2. Unique patterns and meanings of fabric were classified into 2 groups: The basic pattern of the Mudmee sarong and patterns of sarong. Each type of Mudmee sarong can be used to weave different patterns, which are patterns caused by Mudmee. arising from applied patterns and traditional patterns without further modification or invention of new patterns. All Mudmee patterns reflected the Thai Puan lifestyles. Ban Mi District, Lopburi Province for 3 points which were lifestyles related to nature and agriculture, lifestyles related to material culture and lifestyles related to Buddhist beliefs.
