Development Plans for Sustainable Tourism of Occupational Groups Nong Ruea District, Khon Kaen Province

Abstract

          The objectives of this research were 1) to study the potential of occupational groups, 2) to study the linkage of factors contributing to management within the group, and 3) to create development plans for occupational group to support sustainable tourism. using participatory research and collecting information from occupation groups in Ban Phue Subdistrict, Nong Ruea District, Khon Kaen Province. Using a brainstorming forum and interview, 15 samples were used. The data analysis was divided into 3 parts; 1) Potential Assessment by Occupational Potential Assessment Form. 2) Layered Multiple Regression Analysis to study the factors contributing to management. and 3) analyze the TOWS Matrix to study career development strategies.

The results of the research found that Nong Ruea District has 3 occupation groups that operate at present. The results of the assessment of the potential of the occupation groups are only fish processing occupations with good potential. As for the results of the study of the linkage factors contributing to the development of occupational groups from the 3 hierarchical variable groups, namely the learning process. There are 9 variables in management and organization processes, namely (1) joint performance review (2) organizational knowledge management (3) participatory planning (4) production process management (5) product management process (6) improving the quality of life of members, (7) community benefiting, (8) confidence in leadership and member morale, and (9) organizational satisfaction. It was found that the organization's knowledge management variables were correlated with the potential of the occupation group at the statistically significant level at 0.01 and correlated with the potential of the occupation group in the same direction. The results of the SWOT analysis revealed that Ban Phue Sub-district has strengths. namely, there are ecotourism sites which are natural resource capital with high potential The weakness is the lack of promotion of professional integration. And there are obstacles that some tourist attractions are in the national park area.
