บทคัดย่อ
บทความวิชาการนี้ มุ่งนำเสนอประวัติศาสตร์คัดสรร : ความเชื่อและศรัทธาที่มีต่อพญานาคราช ในบริบทท้องถิ่นอีสาน โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสร้างความรู้และเข้าใจในประเด็นเกี่ยวกับประวัติศาสตร์ และพญานาคราช ทั้งนี้ในอดีตความหมายของ “ประวัติศาสตร์” มักอธิบายว่า ประวัติศาสตร์เป็นเรื่องอดีต ที่เกิดขึ้นมาแล้ว 20 ปี หรือเสนอว่าต้องเกิดมาแล้ว 10 ปี ซึ่งปัจจุบันถือว่าเรื่องที่เกิดขึ้นในอดีตอาจเป็นเมื่อวานนี้หรือไม่กี่วินาทีที่ผ่านมาเป็นประวัติศาสตร์เช่นกัน ส่วนประวัติศาสตร์คัดสรรว่าด้วยเรื่องพญานาคราช เป็นการศึกษาที่มุ่งให้ความสำคัญกับชีวิตของผู้คนทั่วไปและโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งชีวิตผู้คนในท้องถิ่นอีสาน ที่มีความเชื่อและความศรัทธาต่อพญานาคราช ผู้เขียนจึงมุ่งนำเสนอโดยทำให้เนื้อหาของประวัติศาสตร์มารวมกับพญานาคราช อันจะทำให้เห็นภาพอดีตของท้องถิ่นอีสานชัดเจนยิ่งขึ้น ดังนั้น ประวัติศาสตร์คัดสรร : ความเชื่อและศรัทธาที่มีต่อพญานาคราชในบริบทท้องถิ่นอีสานจึงช่วยเติมภาพอดีตของผู้คนและเรื่องราวประวัติศาสตร์ให้สมบูรณ์มากยิ่งขึ้น
