Abstract

The objective of this study was to empirically validate the causal relationship model of psycho-Social factors that prosocial behavior. The sample consisted of 511 undergraduate students who studied in Thailand. Proportion stratified random sampling was used. Questionnaires were used to collect data, with Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient between 0.54 - 0.86. Data were analyzed by structured equation modeling technique. The result showed that the proposed model fitted with the empirical data df&space;=&space;3.53,&space;SRMR&space;=&space;0.06,&space;RMSEA&space;=&space;0.07,&space;CFI&space;=&space;0.97,&space;GFI&space;=&space;0.90,&space;AGFI&space;=&space;0.86). The result of path analysis showed that 1) Empathy had positive and direct effected on Prosocial behavior (β = 0.43, p < 0.05). 2) Supportive love rearing practices had positive and direct effected on Prosocial behavior (β = 0.23, p < 0.05). The findings showed that variable causes have a positive influence on socially conducive behavior, including supporting love rearing practices. The findings guide relevant agencies such as the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MD). Formulate policies to encourage family institutions to cultivate loving parenting because they are an important institution in human development to promote prosocial behavior.
