Abstract
In this research inquiry, the researcher examines the types of services that caregivers for the elderly expect in the development of the elderly care business in the 5G digital era in various aspects. The researcher investigates problems in, and obstacles to, conducting the elderly care business and considers the factors of success in this business in addition to indicating how the development of the elderly care business in the 5G digital era can be in consonance with the expectations of care givers for the elderly in Bangkok Metropolis and its environs. The researcher adopted a methodology in which both quantitative and qualitative methods of research were employed. In the quantitative phase of research, the researcher collected germane data by distributing a questionnaire with 381 completed copies returned to the researcher (95 percent return rate). In the qualitative phase of research, 18 operators engaged in the business of providing care for the elderly were interviewed. The research instruments were a questionnaire and an interview form. Data were analyzed statistically. In the quantitative phase of research, it was found that the caregivers for the elderly required that the elderly care business pay heed to the following factors: The personnel providing services should be honest while carrying out duties. Facilities should be properly ventilated. A preventive system should ensure the safety of the elderly. Tools, equipment, and facilities should adhere to standards. Communication with the elderly and their relatives should include information concerning treatment plans. Recreational activities should include those geared toward religious practices. The quality of services provided should be further developed. In the

qualitative phase of research, the researcher found that criteria should be determined in respect to those who may use services. Financing should be planned and financial assistance by the public sector should be encouraged. The tax paid by operators should be reduced. The law regarding establishment and service standards should be explicitly developed. The government should support the use of new technology. In regard to the factors of success of the elderly care business in the 5G digital era, management systems and operations should be standardized. Training should be provided for enhancing the skills of the personnel in assisting the elderly in everyday activities. Technology should be widely used in management just as in the equipment used in taking care of the elderly. Attention must be paid to the need of the elderly to be treated kindly. The researcher recommends the use of technology in the management in the interest of safety. Closed circuit television (CCTV) and emergency notifications should be provided. Additional equipment should be provided for the care of the elderly when walking, sleeping, and especially in the case of the prevention of falls. A global positioning system (GPS) should be used for navigation, especially in tracking wandering elders. Following devices should be tagged. Robots can also be used in the care of the elderly.
