Needs Analysis of a Performance Appraisal for School Administrators in Conformance with Academic Status Standards to Enhance Student Quality

The purpose of this research was to examine the current and desirable methods of performance appraisal for school administrators in conformance with academic status standards to enhance the student quality. The sample comprised of 380 school principals and vice school principals. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Statistics used in the analyzing of data were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and PNIModified for prioritization. The results indicated that the current condition of the performance appraisal was at medium level (M = 3.09) while the desired condition of the performance appraisal were at high level (M = 4.38). Furthermore, PNIModified of the performance appraisal for school administrators in conformance with academic status standards to enhance student quality (PNIModified = 0.420) were 1) the evaluation of discipline and behavior, 2) the academic affairs, the personnel management, the plan and budget general administration and the performance on the tasks, 3) the evaluation of moral and ethics, 4) the evaluation of knowledge and abilities, and 5) the evaluation of professional ethics, respectively.
