The objectives of this research were to 1) study the level of innovative behavior of teachers in secondary schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 3 in Nonthaburi Province and 2) study the factors affecting innovative practices of teachers in secondary schools under that office. The samples consisted of 313secondary schoolteachers under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 3selected by stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire with a reliability of 0.91. A total of 289 questionnaires, 92.33%, were completed and returned. The data was analyzed by mean percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson product moment correlation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.
The findings were as follows: 1) Teachers in secondary schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 3in Nonthaburi Province exercised innovative practices, overall and in each aspect, at a high level. 2) Self-motivating factors and work climate affected innovative practices of teachers at a 0.01 level with statistical significance. Additionally, the management support for innovation and self-directed learning were not affected.
