The purposes of this research were to study 1) the level of e-learning adoption, 2) factors affecting e-learning adoption, and 3) guidelines to e-Learning adoption of lecturers at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University. A mixed–method study was conducted with a survey questionnaire and specialist interviews. Samples consisted of 104 lecturers of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University and five specialists. Descriptive statistics were analyzed by frequency, percentage and mean. Factors affecting lecturers’ e-learning adoption were analyzed by using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The interview data were analyzed by a content analysis.
The results showed that: 1) the stage of e-learning adoption from Roger’s Diffusion of Innovation Theory of all lecturers ranged from the lowest to fair levels. The highest was at the awareness stage; 2) influential factors that affected e-learning adoption were lecturer’s motivational factors, personality, perception and environmental support; and 3) strategies to enhance lecturers’ e-learning adoption include support from the Faculty, promoting the lecturer’s competence and attitudes, and developing and managing e-learning systems.
