The Multicultural Virtual World (MVW) is an innovation based on the research project titled Virtual Learning Environment System to enhance 21st communication and collaboration skills of higher education learners in the ASEAN cultural community.
The result of, data analyzed using EFA showed that there was four core elements:
(1) teaching techniques and collaborative supporting media, (2) communication tools,
(3) collaborative learning, and (4) roles. Then, the elements were used to design, develop, and implement, according to the R&D research method. The learning process of MVW comprised seven steps: (1) preparation, (2) choose an issue or topic to be studied, (3) set workingrules, (4) study information and share ideas, (5) project collaboration, (6) evaluation, and (7) presentation. The distinguished features of the MVW that were consistent with and could be supported by the research results would be discussed in addition to propose for further implementation. Lastly, the sustainability of Virtual Learning Community (VLC) was based on the concept of Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) where learners have gained meaningful learning experiences, leading them to become lifelong learners in the VLC.
