THE STRATEGIES OF PREVENTION AND SOLVING PROBLEMS NACROTICS OF OPPORTUNITY EXPANSION SCHOOLS IN THE AREAS NARCOTICS CONTROL OFFICE REGION 7

Abstract
The purposes of this dissertation were 1) to examine the factors of narcotics prevention performed of Opportunity expansion schools in the areas Narcotics control office region 7, 2) to investigate the factors of problem solving concerning narcotics of Opportunity expansion schools in the areas Narcotics control office region 7 and 3) to examine the strategies of prevention and solving problems concerning narcotics of Opportunity expansion schools in the areas Narcotics control office region 7. The research procedure consisted of the stages as follows: 1) determining factors 2) analyzing the factors of prevention and solving problems concerning narcotics of educational expansion schools and 3) focus group organized to investigate the strategies of prevention and solving problems concerning narcotics in educational expansion schools. The study sample comprised 205 educational expansion schools located in the areas under the Office of Narcotics Prevention and Suppression Office Division 7, 3 informants from each school consisting of school director, deputy school director and teacher in charge of preventing and solving problems concerning narcotics in school, totaling 615 persons using school as unit of analysis. The research instrument was an questionnaire. The statistics used for analyzing the collected data included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, exploratory factor analysis, mode and content analysis.
The following were the research results:
- The factors of prevention problem concerning narcotics of the educational expansion schools in the areas Narcotics control office region 7 consisted of 8 factors which were 1) participatory administration
2) knowledge management 3) mental toughness 4) self-awareness 5) the system of helping and taking care of students 6) socialization 7) self-sufficient way of living and 8) “To Be Number One” Project. - The factors of solving problems concerning narcotics of Opportunity expansion schools in the areas Narcotics control office region 7 consisted of 11 factors which were 1) collaboration network 2) mentoring system 3) life skills 4) social immunity 5) development of student competencies 6) social support 7) thinking process skills 8) youth power 9) the science of the King “ Understanding, Accessing and Developing” 10) “White Family” and 11) behavioral modeling.
- The strategies of prevention and solving problems concerning narcotics of Opportunity expansion schools in the areas Narcotics control office region 7 were as follows:
The strategies of prevention of narcotics included 1) encouraging the stake holders to participate and develop the system of narcotics prevention based on PDCA quality cycle 2) creating immunity of narcotics via promoting diverse learning for educating students to abstain from narcotics 3) developing helping and taking care of student system to improve student quality 4) persuading elders and friends to be students’ mentors for creating immunity of narcotics 5) promoting self-sufficiency economy as way of living and Thai nationalism 6) mental strengthening using a variety of activities and 7) youth activities “To Be Number One” Project.
The solving problems concerning narcotics included 1) establishing network and partnership to solving narcotic problems in “Village Drug Remedy” 2) performing “Open Your Mind Never Mind Your Age” the activity in which people with different ages are receptive to each other’s problems or listen to the problems among families 3) organizing “Brief Motivation Intervention” for giving up narcotics 4) organizing alternative activities in which the students having got rehabilitation can mentally renovate and self-discovery 7) performing various student development activities 8) organizing activities to promote critical thinking 9) performing activities for empowering youth 10) utilizing the science of the King “Understanding, Accessing and Developing” and 11) organizing activities of “White Family” in which the family members refrain from violence and allurements and parents to be good role model.
