Development of Open Educational Resources Supporting Science Resource-Based Instruction in Upper Secondary Level, Triamudomsuksapattanakarn School Network

Abstract

The R&D research on “ Development of Open Educational Resources Supporting Science
Resource - Based Instruction in Upper Secondary Level, Triamudomsuksapattanakarn School
Network” had the purposes to 1) develop the OER: Open Educational Resources Supporting Science
Resource-Based Instruction in Upper Secondary Level, Triamudomsuksapattanakarn School Network;
and 2) evaluate the developed OER. The content experts, the 141 population of all upper secondary
science teachers from Triamudomsuksapattanakarn School Network and the sample group of 12
upper secondary science teachers, purposively selected from Triam udomsuksapattanakarn School in
Bangkok, were used in the evaluation process. The research instruments were the questionnaires for
the content experts, the opinion and satisfaction questionnaires for the population and the sample
group and the open-ended interview for the sample group. The data were analyzed, using percentage,
mean, S.D. and descriptive narration.
The research findings showed that 1) the OER Supporting Science Resource-Based Instruction
in Upper Secondary Level, Triamudomsuksapattanakarn School Network was developed as a website
at the URL: http://www.oersci.com/, comprising 6 main menus: HOME – OER SCIENCE – CONTRIBUTE
–SCHOOL NETWORK -OER REFERENCES –ABOUT US. Three kinds of resources were presented in each
of 24 unit plans of 6 subjects: Biology1, Biology2, Chemistry, Physics1, Physics2, Stars and Our Planet,
using the TASL form (Title – Author – Source – License) for presentation that makes the amount of
72 web resources with CC licenses; 2) the opinions of the population were at the highest (4.56) and
high level (4.48) for the content and the used technology for presentation; their satisfaction with the
presentation and the usage of the website was at high level respectively at 4.18 and 4.17; 3) the
sample group showed respectively the highest and high levels of opinion and satisfaction after the
trial usage of the OER website for the participation in 5Rs Activities; their products from the activities
were 13 unit plans and additional OER websites in total.
