Guidelines for Strategic Leadership Development of School Administrators in Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area Office 1

Abstract

This research consists purposes were to 1. to study the current conditions, desired conditions, and essential needs regarding the strategic leadership of school administrators under the Office of Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area 1. and 2. to examine guidelines for developing the strategic leadership of school administrators. This research employed a mixed-methods design, combining both quantitative and qualitative approaches, and was conducted in two phases: Phase 1: The research instrument was a questionnaire. The sample consisted of 266 participants, including school administrators and head teachers of four work groups. The sample size was determined using Krejcie and Morgan’s (1970) sample size table and selected through stratified random sampling. Phase 2: The research instrument was an interview. The target group comprised 13 participants, selected through purposive sampling. Data obtained from the questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Data gathered from the interviews were analyzed using content analysis. The research findings revealed that 1) Current and Desired Conditions:
The overall current level of strategic leadership among school administrators was at a high level (x̅ = 3.73, S.D. = 0.78), while the desired level was at the highest level (x̅ = 4.61, S.D. = 0.60). The overall essential need index was 0.236 and 2) Guidelines for Strategic Leadership Development The proposed development framework comprised five key components (1) Developing revolutionary thinking methods (2) Enhancing higher-order thinking (3) Fostering expectations and opportunities for the future (4) Strengthening the ability to utilize strategic determinants (5) Advancing vision formulation and Evaluation by experts indicated that the framework’s appropriateness and feasibility were at the highest level (x̅ = 4.52, S.D. = 0.45).
