Current Status of the Community Enterprises in Ubon Ratchathani Province

Abstract

This research purposes consisted of 1. investigate current status of the community food processing and production enterprises, community beverage production enterprises in Ubon Ratchathani province and 2. to examine adjustment and changes of the community food processing and production enterprises, community beverage production enterprises in Ubon Ratchathani province. The study was designed as qualitative research. The instruments were questionnaires for 211 purposively sampled informants from the community enterprises in food processing and product groups, and beverage production groups. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics consisting of percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The results showed that 1) founding of most community enterprises were supported by government organizations. The community enterprise implementation duration was no longer than 5 years. The source of capital in the community enterprise business was mainly from community resources; cash was from member fund raising and other funds. The initiative fund was not over 50,000 bahts the group average sales was 27,511.85 bahts. The average member’s income was 3,130.81 bahts and 2) Adaptation and change of community enterprises regarding physical resources, it was found that Consisting of (1) physical resource factors Overall, at a high level (x̅= 3.46, S.D. = 0.61) (2) Human resource factors Overall, it is at a moderate level (x̅= 3.27, S.D. = 0.36) (3) Factors in financial resources Overall, it was at a moderate level (x̅= 2.73, S.D. = 0.41) and (4) knowledge resources factor. Overall, it was at a moderate level (x̅= 3.26, S.D. = 0.48).
