An Analysis of Grammatical Errors in English Business Letter Writing of Undergraduate Students at Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University.

This research consists purposes to study analyze the grammatical errors in English Business letter writing of undergraduate students at Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University who studied Business English in the first semester of 2019. It is a quantitative research. The sample group is bachelor's degree students. Maha Sarakham Rajabhat University 30 students who enrolled in Business English for the 1st semester of Academic Year 2019, 1 room, were selected randomly by a group of 170 students from 5 rooms, and research tools were a grammatical error log form and a questionnaire of 60 issues. The data collected from the questionnaire were analyzed using descriptive statistics consisting of percentage, mean, standard deviation. The research study showed that the three most frequent grammatical errors in writing the business letters of the students were four hundred twenty seven grammatical errors of omission consisting of 89 errors of prepositions (20.84%), 87 errors of noun omission (20.37%) and 66 errors of modal verbs (15.46) respectively. 2) Two hundred ninety five errors of misformation consisted of 100 errors of prepositions (33.90), 62 errors of modal verbs (21.02%) and 43 errors of pronouns (14.58%) respectively. 3) One hundred and fifty errors of addition consisted of 59 errors of prepositions (39.33%), 36 errors of nouns (24.00%), and 28 errors of articles (18.66%) respectively. 4) Twelve errors of misordering consisted of errors of nouns (100%). 5) The four least frequent errors consisted of capitalization (46.95%), punctuation (30.09%), spelling (13.08%) and others (9.88%) respectively.
