THE PROMOTIONS OF REGISTERED NURSE’S FUNCTION FOR HEALTH SERVICES TO PRISONERS

Abstract
Thailand currently has a steadily increasing number of prisoners and Thailand is going to elderly societies, and the problem of elderly and another aged is got illness and injury in physical and psychological. According form international standard all prisons should to have health unit and nurses for treatment to prisoner, example health promotion, nursing care, primary medical care, preventing of disease, and rehabilitation. For one prison have to have a registered nurse minimum for give nursing service to prisons. The duties and responsibilities of registered nurses in prisons correspond to the number of prisoners. To encourage registered nurses to develop nursing skills for the benefit of prisoners, it is necessary to provide opportunities for external organize to treatment in health care for prisoners by directly and indirectly. In prisons, there must be training in prison volunteers to participate in public health assistance. Increasing the number of registered nurses in prisons must be sufficient for the population of prisoners so that inmates can receive more universal assistance. Prison nurse should training nurse skill and get education about nursing and public health to continue and there should be amendments to the law relating to overtime and disbursement of remuneration for the nursing profession.
