Development of Transformational Leadership of School Administrators Attached to the Northern Local Organizations

Abstract

The purpose of this study was threefold: 1) to study the transformational leadership of school administrators attached to the Northern Local Organizations; 2) to analyze the transformational leadership factors of school administrators; and 3) to offer appropriate guidelines towards the development of transformational leadership of school administrators. Data from a set of 40 schools and 320 teacher questionnaires (reliability coefficient 0.971), were collected.  The following statistics were computed: frequency, percentage, means, standard deviation, one-sample t-test, and factor analysis. Research results were as follows: (1) Overall and four of each individual factor - idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration, were at a high level comparing with the criteria set of 80% and with a statistical significance at .05 level; (2) As factors analysis of transformational leadership, it revealed the 10 main components and 40 crucial issues, all could explain the variance at 76.265 percent, and at the .05 level of significance; (3) There were 10 guidelines for transformational leadership development resulting from this study which the author would like to offer in the years to come: (3.1) Development of love and engagement in the organizations/schools, (3.2) Creation of motivation in work, (3.3) Improvement of emotional intelligence, (3.4) Enhancement of interpersonal skill among leaders and followers, (3.5) Performance assessment on rules and regulations, (3.6) Creation good relationship among staff at work, (3.7) Systematic work development, (3.8) Improvement of knowledge within organizations, (3.9) Conflict management in the organizations must be put in place, and (3.10) Development of work paradigms.
