STRENGTHENING PARTICIPATORY AWARENESS AND BEHAVIOR CHANGE THE FOREST RESOURCE MANAGEMENT OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITIES

Abstract

The state of the forest resource management of the local communities in NakhonSawan Province: Ban NongNoen and Ban Dongmanhad the meeting of referendum to conserve the sustainable forest and co-solve the transgressor problems with making the project and registering to the community forest byDirector General of Royal Forest Department. The management of the community forest at Ban NongNoen and Ban Dongman had the Board of committee and the committee of the community forest, and the people in the communities participating in the regulation, the conservation by the activities in restoring, maintaining, growing the trees,and building the check dams. In the protection, it builtthe boundary line and the firebreaks, put up a sign for the boundary line of the community forest,closed the forest in the rainy season, and had the guards. In the development, it grew theeconomic crops for the income of the people in the communities to decrease depending on the benefit of the forest. The state of the community forest management got the cooperation from the public and private organizations in the budget and the operation by the guidelines for making the participatory awareness in the forest resource management of the local communities.
