Abstract

Potential development of community self-management on the base economic sufficiency economy philosophy in Chainat” is aiming at; 1) To study the current situation, problems and needs of the community. 2) Todevelop the community's potential for self-management in the economy based on Sufficiency Economy Philosophy. is a qualitative research, using a formal and informal interview with key informants such as community leaders, both formal and natural leaders, elders within the community, members of various groups such as government officers, corporate development officers, and general members in the community. In addition to, the focus approach is used in order for collecting the data on the knowledge related to the adaptation of the community members and of the various groups in the community;          and the observation is used the participating observation approach by studying the methodology, process with the community leaders, members in regard to self-management guideline of the sufficiency economy. Therefore, the researcher of this study has participated in the community’s  activities, exchange the knowledge, share information, including opinion analyzing that could enable the researcher to learn together with the local community. 

               The findings of this research “Knowledge of community self management based on the guidelines of the sufficiency economy, Ban Noen Klang”; community has brought the natural way and a way of life based on the sufficiency economy philosophy applied at all levels, both on a personal, household, and community level. In regard to the personal level, it has carried out the activities such as attitude, behavior modification to life, awareness raising to the community based on the philosophy of sufficiency economy, self- learning, life planning for their own development, family financial management. An immunization with savings starting at the household level, having a reduction expenditure activity as well as an increasing revenue, for instance, reducing the cost of agricultural production by using the organic fertilizers, and bio-fermented water which affecting not only to lower production cost but also doesn’t cause any negative impact on health and the environment. Learning activity araising from the promotion process of the community leader regularly to attend the refreshing, enhancing, expertise training the  knowledge; exchanging knowledge among the communities, housholds with whom obtain a similairproessional activities; exposure visit in order to develop knowledge, wisdom, and optimize operational activities in the community such as saving group production, cremation society of funds, farmers group, the processing communitywhich all groups in Ban Noen Klang community has organized the exchange leaning forum, analysis the strengths and the weaknesses of the community and to priority the problems in the community, included having the plan, selecting the appropriate activities that lead problem solving and self-management of communities by adapting the sufficiency economic knowledge to drive the community development in ways that consistent with the various community context.
