โลหะปราสาท แสงแห่งธรรม (Light of Dharma, Loha Prasat)

Abstract

โลหะปราสาทในวัดราชนัดดารามวรวิหาร สร้างในสมัยพระบาทสมเด็จพระนั่งเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว เป็นอาคารที่ทรงมีพระราชดำริให้สร้างแทนที่เจดีย์ ด้วยทรงหมายให้มีความพิเศษเป็นโลหะปราสาทแห่งที่ 3 ของโลกถัดจากอินเดียและศรีลังกา เพื่อแสดงออกถึงว่าประเทศไทยเป็นศูนย์กลางของพระพุทธศาสนาแห่งหนึ่งของโลกเหมือนทั้งสองประเทศนี้ ตัวอาคารมีจุดเด่นคือมีช่องเปิดให้แสงเข้าได้โดยรอบ เกิดรูปแบบและลักษณะต่างๆ ของแสงในพื้นที่ตลอดทั้งวัน นับว่าเป็นพุทธสถาปัตยกรรมที่ใช้ภูมิปัญญาในการออกแบบให้มีความโดดเด่น ในเรื่องของการนำแสงเข้ามาภายในตัวอาคาร การใช้แสงในพุทธสถาปัตยกรรมนั้น ไม่ได้เป็นเพียงการนำแสงเข้ามาเพื่อให้เกิดความสว่างภายในตัวอาคารเท่านั้น กล่าวคือไม่ได้เป็นเพียงแค่การใช้งานเชิงกายภาพ แสงส่งผลกระทบต่ออารมณ์การรับรู้และความรู้สึก ผู้เขียนจึงเสนอมุมมองในเรื่องของแสงที่เกิดขึ้นภายในพุทธสถาปัตยกรรม ในมิติของแสงแห่งธรรม แสงแห่งธรรม ในความหมายตามหลักธรรมพุทธศาสนาคือแสงสว่างที่เกิดขึ้นอยู่ภายใน แสงนี้เกิดขึ้นได้หลายขณะจากหลายเหตุและปัจจัย แสงแห่งธรรมนั้นสามารถเป็นแนวทางให้จิตเกิดปัญญาได้ พลังของแสงแห่งธรรมนี้ก่อให้เกิดเป็นพลังในการขับเคลื่อนชีวิต นำทางไปในทิศที่ถูกต้อง ไม่หลงไปในทางที่ผิด บทความนี้เป็นการจำแนกการเกิดขึ้นของแสงแห่งธรรม ตามหลักการของพุทธศาสนา แสดงความเชื่อมโยงและความสัมพันธ์ ระหว่างแสงธรรมชาติกับแสงแห่งธรรมในโลหะปราสาทวัดราชนัดดารามวรวิหาร และแสดงให้เห็นถึงมุมมองของการสร้างพื้นที่ของแสงแห่งธรรมในพุทธสถาปัตยกรรม

Loha Prasat in Wat Ratchanaddaram Worawihan was built to the order of King Nang Klao (Rama III). It is ordered to build instead of the stupa. The purpose of building Loha Prasat was to be the third metal castle of the world, following India and Sri Lanka in order to present that Thailand is also the center of Buddhism as those two countries. The interesting thing about the building is the space around the building that allows the sunlight to shine through and display different shape of light and shadow all day long. Loha Prasat is said to be an outstanding Buddhist architecture as the design that let the light through the building used wisdom. Not only to illuminate and physically benefit the space, using the light in the Buddhist architecture also affects emotions and feelings. This research presents another perspective of light in Buddhist architecture as Light of Dharma. Light of Dharma in the meaning of Buddhism principle means the light that occurs within the mind and soul. This light can occur by several causes and factors. Light of Dharma helps human gain wisdom as this light has a power to motivate human, which leads their lives to the right direction. Thereby, this article identifies the light of Dharma by holding to the Buddhism principle.  It presents the relationship between the sun light and light of Dharma in Loha Prasat as well as the perspective of the light of Dharma in Buddhist architecture space.
