The research methodology was based on a qualitative approach; textual analysis of TV drama, which obviously presented the charactersû viciousness on TV channels 3, 5 and 7, broadcast in January 2008 - August 2009 after night news programs, during 20.30 - 22.30 (approximately), and; in-depth interview with 20 TV drama viewers. The data analysis used social construction of reality, narration, semiology, viciousness, and media literacy, as conceptual framework. The findings are as follows:
1. All the protagonist, the antagonist, and minor characters have symbolic viciousness rather than physical viciousness.
2. The protagonist and the antagonist have both correlation and difference in physically viciousness and; however, they have somewhat symbolic different viciousness. They have a different level of viciousness at the polar opposite, like black and white.
3. Social construction of reality about viciousness of characters can be created via plot and characterization. The protagonistûs viciousness will have çsourceé or pressure that forces it out; the pressure comes from the society or other people around, and; the viciousness is only his or her reaction, and most of the protagonists will finally change from bad characters to good ones, which is completely different from the antagonist.
4. Most of the 20 viewer who are çin favor with dramaé and those who are çnot in favor with dramaé perceive different viciousness between the protagonist and antagonist based on their expression and their cause or source of viciousness. However, the viewer who are çin favor with dramaé will be able to perceive various dimensions and understand the characters more than the viewer who are çnot in favor with dramaé.
