The purpose of this qualitative research is to study the development of Thai Boy Bands in the past under the influence of Western and Japanese- Taiwanese Boy Bands and also to study the development of Thai Boy Bands in the present under the influence of Korean Boy Bands. The research is conducted under the 3 frameworks which are Intercultural, Cultural Imperialism and Articulation. The research samples include 17 Thai Boy Bands, 3 Western Boy Bands, 2 Japanese Boy Bands, 1 Taiwanese Boy Bands and 3 Korean Boy Bands in the analysis of Boy Band components which are members, appearances, costumes, music styles, dancing and singing.

The result shows that Thai Boy Bands pay less attention to singing and dancing which are considered to be the essence of Boy Bands. Instead, they tend to focus on the secondary components of Boy Bands which are music styles, the amount of members, membersû nationality, appearance, personality and costumes. The direction of Thai Boy Bandsû development is similar to Taiwanese Boy Bands but differs from Western Boy Bands, Japanese Boy Bands and Korean Boy Bands whose priorities are given to singing and dancing. In addition, the reasons behind the constant development of Thai Boy Bands are business factors, music industry, listenersû music taste and value.
