ฮูปแต้มในสิมอีสาน : ภาพสะท้อนความหลากหลายของลัทธิความเชื่อ

Abstract

ฮูปแต้มในสิมอีสานนั้น มีเนื้อหาที่แสดงถึงความเชื่อที่หลากหลายในอดีต ทั้งนี้เนื่องจากว่าศิลปินอีสานไม่เพียงแต่นำเสนอหลักศีลธรรมและเรื่องราวความเชื่อในทางพระพุทธศาสนาเท่านั้น แต่ยังนำเสนอความเชื่อหรือเรื่องราวในทางศาสนาพราหมณ์-ฮินดูซึ่งเข้ามาสู่อีสานและล้านช้างในยุคเดียวกับพระพุทธศาสนา ทั้งสองลัทธิต่างก็ได้รับการยอมรับนับถือในดินแดนแถบนี้ในช่วงเวลาที่ต่างกัน นอกจากนั้นเนื้อหาของฮูปแต้มในสิมอีสานยังบอกเล่าเรื่องราวในวิถีชีวิตและประเพณีท้องถิ่นอีสานด้วย การนำเสนอเนื้อหาของฮูปแต้มในลักษณะดังกล่าว มีเป้าหมายสำคัญเพื่อเป็นการแสดงออกถึงการคงไว้ซึ่งความเชื่อที่หลากหลาย เพื่อพัฒนาวัฒนธรรมแห่งสันติ สร้างความเข้าอกเข้าใจระหว่างกันในกลุ่มชนที่มีความเชื่อแตกต่างกัน รวมทั้งสร้างความเคารพในทางวัฒนธรรมจากจุดยืนทางปรัชญาที่แตกต่างกัน

The E-san Mural Paintings at Sim-Esan : The Expression of a Variety of Religious Beliefs

The contents of murals at Sim-Esan (Buddhist monastery) were expression of a variety of beliefs in the past. Inasmuch as artists demonstrated not only Buddhist (Theravada) morality and beliefs but also beliefs of Brahmana-hinduism that introduced to Esan and Lanchang when the same period as Buddhism. Both Buddhism and Brahmana-hinduism had reached Esan and Lanchang in difference time. Moreover the contents of murals at Sim-Esan were presentation of Esan life styles and local tradition. The ultimate goals of presentation of murals at Sim-Esan were to preserving the diversity of beliefs and development a culture of peace, tolerance and cultural respect from a difference of philosophical opinions.
