Abstract
This thesis is a study of long Drums Band (Klong Yaow) of Loak Luang Por Busarakham Drum Band, Mak Ya, Nong Wua So District, Udon Thani, with focused on history of Long drum band, rhythm and performance of Long drum band, by collecting data from books, academic papers, related articles, field study and analyze it.
The findings on musical characteristic research was found that styles and patterns of Luk Luang Boo Bussarakham band were played with tom-tom styles. These styles were invented by venerable monk named Charoen Thanyuthato from Isan intonation preaching (Thed Lae) ideas, and style names inspired from Jataka (Story of the last Great Incarnation Buddha) stories integrated with his thoughts from his monastic routines and experiences.
The Tom-tom band of Luk Luang Boo Bussarakham was such a popular band which played in those festivals mentioned above since they were unique but simple rhythm along with the polite styles and patterns while they were playing. This band was such a role model for Tom-tom bands in Udon Thani province.
