State of the Field of Thai Studies in Taiwan: A Survey of NDLTD Database Theses

Abstract

This study intends to survey on Thai studies knowledge in Taiwan’s National
Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD) by focusing on Master’s degree
and Ph.D. theses. The last accessed date is December 2nd, 2013. The study reveals the
total number of focused group which are 254 theses on Thai studies, including 240
Master’s degree theses and 14 Ph.D. theses. According to 254 theses, we focus on
3 approaches; theses’ contents, universities and graduated year. Those theses which
are from 47 universities can be classified into 17 contents since 1972 until last accessed
date. Financial Banking and Economic Group is the most popular content and has
potential to increase in the future.
