Abstract

Xiao Hong was a female author who devoted much attention to the fate of humans. Her attention and empathy for lower-class people making this character was often seen among various characters in her literatures. She created the character of lower class in society such as beggars, disabled people and farmers through her observation of their lives and her experiences. This essay aims to examine XiaoHong’s character creation and literary perspectives which portrayed her life experiences as a beginning of writing literatures.
