Abstract

This article studies Thailand – China traditional relations incliding goverment, economy and social. In Sukhothai era, Thailand and China had a tributary relationship by King of Thailand would pay tribute to China hoping for an acceptance from Chinese Emperor. Later, this method had changed into a trading purpose because it made an enormous income to Thailand. Until around King Rama IV era, Thailand had stopped the tributary relationship. As for the culture, Chinese people had emigrated and settled in Thailand throughout the ages until Chinese traditions and cultures had blended seamlessly with Thai culture.

As for the tourism, now the number one destition for Chinese tourists is Thailand. There are many reasons for example; convenient facilities, friendliness of Thai people, varities of attractions, price, nightlife, places from movies, etc. Furthermore, Chinese’s needs have become more important to increase income in Thailand, for example; trading, wanting to see different culture, needs for rehabilitation, Thai food testing and changes in Business, which corresponding with the tourism development strategy plan 2018-2021 from Department of Tourism. So, if tourists’ needs consistent with tourism policy, it will motivate Chinese tourists travelling more in Thailand and brings load of money to Thailand as well.
