RESEARCH ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE IN THAILAND

Abstract

        Thailand has the largest number of Confucius Institutes and classrooms in Asia. The rapid development of Confucius Institutes have played an extremely important role in promoting Chinese language teaching in Thailand, opened the door of learning Chinese for the whole people in Thailand. Over the past decades, Confucius Institutes of Thailand have successfully explored the promotion of Chinese language teaching and Chinese culture activities, subsequently found out a lot of experience which promoted cultural exchanges between China and Thailand. Furthermore, it has enhanced mutual trust and understanding between the Thai and Chinese peoples and further strengthened the strategic partnership of cooperation between the two countries. At the same time, the great achievements of Confucius Institutes in Thailand have played an important role in the mutual learning of Chinese and Thai civilizations, produced a far-reaching impact on promoting the friendly relations between China and Thailand. Enhancing mutual trust and understanding between the two peoples, and further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
