Abstract

This quantitative study aimed to (1) examine farmers' attitudes towards household food security and (2) identify factors associated with household food security among large-scale farmers in Mae Hong Son Province. A sample of 400 farmers was selected using the Yamane formula. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and an ordered logit model.
Results showed that farmers had a highly positive attitude towards household food security (X = 4.51, SD = 0.41). They perceived their current level of household food security as high (X = 4.00, SD = 0.61). The highest mean score was found in the dimension of food availability, followed by food utilization, food stability, and food access. Five variables were significantly associated with household food security: age, education, self-financing for agricultural production, income, and attitude towards household food security.
