Development of a Curriculum on Techniques for Interpreting Price Movement Charts Through the Integration of Systems Thinking and Bloom’s Taxonomy
Main Article Content
Abstract
This purpose of this study is to develop a curriculum for interpreting price movement charts by integrating system thinking with Bloom's Taxonomy and investigated the factors and conditions for implementing the curriculum with a group of eight stock investors. The four-step curriculum development process involved: needs assessment, curriculum design and development, pilot implementation, and evaluation. Results indicated that most stock investors face complex and ever-changing challenges in the financial market, hindering their ability to effectively analyze, make decisions, and adjust investment strategies to market contexts. The curriculum design incorporated humanistic philosophy and self-directed learning, comprising six learning plans. The pilot implementation revealed that investors improved their abilities to analyze complex problems, make informed decisions, and select appropriate strategies aligned with market contexts and their investment styles. Regarding the conditions for implementing the curriculum, learners demonstrated self-awareness and self-assessment, while instructors were able to stimulate critical thinking. The curriculum content effectively connected different subjects, providing learners with a holistic view of the knowledge. The time factor emphasized continuous and flexible learning, while learning resources and instructional materials were modern and appropriate. Assessment involved learners' participation in self and peer assessment.
