Abstract

Currently, the business operations of industries in Thailand must face various factors that impact their operation due to the fluctuating economic conditions. This research integrates theoretical concepts with the aim to study (1) market orientation, learning orientation, service quality, and business performance (2) confirm the structural relationship that influence on business performance and (3) examine the causal relationship of business performance in the Thai industry, with verification of consistency the model and empirical data. The researcher used a survey research methodology. The data was collected from 320 business owners or executives using quota randomization from a population of 921 companies. The descriptive statistics used in the analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, skewness and kurtosis, and the inferential statistics were the Pearson’s correlation coefficient and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS (Analysis Moment of Structure).
The results of statistical analysis showed that (1) condition of market orientation, learning orientation, service quality and business performance were at the highest level, (2) all components were significantly correlated at the statistically significant level of 0.01, and (3) the analysis of the structural equation model showed that the market orientation influences learning orientation (TE=0.81), market orientation influences service quality (TE=0.86), market orientation influences business performance (TE=89), learning orientation influences service quality (TE=0.34), learning orientation influences business performance (TE=0.46) and service quality influences business performance (TE=0.33). The findings were congruent with the hypothesis at the statistically significant level of 0.01. The findings were consistent with the hypothesis at the statistically significant level of 0.01 and 0.001.
