Abstract

The objectives of this research are to develop the computational thinking and develop the problem-solving ability of students in kindergarten 3 by using problem-based learning (PBL) together with unplugged coding activities. The target group includes 17 students in the Third kindergarten at Ban Huai Wa school, semester 1 of academic year 2023. The research design was action research with 3 operating cycles. The research's instruments included of 1) The tools used in the research practice consisted of learning experience plan, 2)The reflection tools; Teacher's post-learning recording form, teacher and student behavior observation form, and 3)The tools used to evaluate the research results include:computational thinking ability test problem-solving ability test. Using quantitative data analysis are mean, standard deviation, and percentage.Qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis. The results were summarized:1) students had computational thinking ability average score is 12.94, which is 85.94% of the full score and there were 13 students passed the criteria is 76.47% of the total number of students. That is higher than the specified criteria. 2) The students have a score of ability to think and solve problems average score is 7.53 which is 83.66% of the full score and 14 students passed the criteria is 82.35% of the total number of students. Which is higher than the specified criteria
